It began in late 2002 as just another local tournament. Early on the Black River Ultimate Tournament Series (BRUTS) quickly distanced itself from anything of its kind. Alternating between 3 and 5 man formats, teams from all over eastern NC came to test their skills. BRUTS saw incredible growth in 2003 with average 1st pay outs in the thousands. We continued our growth and massive payouts in 2004 and 2005. Now, 2008 promises to be even better. BRUTS is an all 3Man format with individual event winnings.  There's no commitment, no long series, just competition paintball 8 times a year.

Logistics:

• Team registration is $100- includes entry and air.

• Registration must be turned in no later than 11pm the Wednesday before the event.  Registration is not complete without full payment.

• This a 3 man tournament.  Teams will be allowed to roster 5 players.  Only those people listed on your roster will be allowed to play.

• Each game will be 5mins long.

• Sideline coaching is strictly PROHIBITED

• Teams will play in a 6 game prelim with the top 4 advancing to finals.  We will advance 5 teams in tournaments drawing more than 20 teams.

• Finals are played in round robin format.

• Captain's meeting will begin at 8am the morning of the tournament and play starts shortly there after.

• Reffing provided by the BRBoyz

• Special paint prices the morning of the tournament

Key Rules:

• No Amateur or Pro players*

• Captain's meeting at 8am the morning of the tourney

• No steel cleats

• No profanity (strictly enforced)

• No staining paint (Ultimate Evil, Hellfire, Ultra Chronic, etc)

• No physical contact with players or staff

• PSP/CFOA chips allowed- 15bps max at 1-2-3-RAMP

• Field speed limit is 300fps

• Random chrono checks

• 5 minute games

• Other rules to be discussed at captain's meeting

• Registration not complete without full payment

• NO LATE REGISTRATION!!!

* Requirements:
BR restricts play to Rookie and Novice players only. If you have competed in 3 or more ACTS, CFOA, CMS, NPPL or PSP events in the past 24 months, either on an Amateur team or as an Amateur player you are considered AMATEUR and will not be allowed to play. If we determine that this rule has been broken, the team's entry fee will be forfeited and all points accrued nullified. It is your responsibility to question your eligibility. Again, if you fail to do so and are found to be "ranked" AMATEUR, your team is out of the event and you lose your entry fee.
